The catch for fans is that in most cases it's the top-priced categories that are left, with England's closing Pool A game against Uruguay at Manchester City Stadium still selling only £250 seats.

Millennium Stadium is struggling to fill its 74, 500 capacity, with all price brackets available for two matches and high-end seats only left for the second and third quarter finals at £250 and £215.

Unsurprisingly, England's pool of death games against Wales and Australia at Twickenham are the hottest tickets in town and have been sold out for months.

But those desperate to see the Red Rose in action can still snap up limited tickets in category A or B for the tournament opener against Fiji on Friday for £215 or £315, or see them play Uruguay for £175 (category B) or £250 (category A).

Wales fans still have plenty of chances to see their team in action on home turf, with A, B, C and D categories from £50 to £175 for their opener against Uruguay on Sunday at 2.30pm and A and D seats for the Fiji game at £50 and £175. Some category B tickets are also left for what could be the group A decider against Australia at Twickenham for £175.

Category D tickets are sold out for Ireland vs Canada at Millennium Stadium but there are plenty still available for those willing to fork out extra, with categories A and B at £175 and £125, and category C tickets at £85 for adults and children for £15. A and B tickets can also be bought for Ireland's Romania clash at Wembley for £125 and £175, while their France game back in Cardiff has £125 category C tickets still available.

South Africa's games have proven hugely popular, with only the top-priced A and B tickets for the clash with Samoa at Villa Park remaining for £150 and £115.

Only the most expensive £175 seats are left for the Springboks' game against Scotland at St James' Park on October 3, which is also the case for the Scots matches against Japan on September 23 at Kingsholm Stadium and the USA on September 27 at Elland Road, with category A tickets for £85.

A and B tickets can still be found for Scotland's Samoa match, potentially a banana peel for Vern Cotter's side on October 10, for £115 and £150 back at the home of Newcastle United.

Tickets to see Richie McCaw's All Blacks in action are hot property but some can still be purchased

Space is also available to catch the World Cup holders New Zealand in action, albeit against verified tournament minnows, at the Olympic Stadium in London and the Millennium Stadium. September 24's game against Namibia in London has £125 and £175 tickets while the Georgia game in Cardiff has £75, £115 and £150 seats to sell.

Tickets to see Australia play can still be bought for all but the England game through the official source, with the Fiji match in Cardiff still selling seats across all four categories for £50, £75, £115 and £150. It's also one of the matches with child-priced tickets for £15 for categories C and D. Only £85 category A tickets are still to go for their game against minnows Uruguay at midday on September 27 at Birmingham's Villa Park.

For those just keen to get involved, the cheapest seats can be found for matches betwen the less fancied nations at the tournament's smaller venues, such as Canada vs Romania at Leicester City or France and Romania at the Olympic Stadium for £35, £45 or £60 with children's tickets for £7.
