Airlines that fly from Glasgow to New York
There are three main airports serving New York; Newark Liberty Airport, John F. Kennedy Airport and LaGuardia Airport and flights from Glasgow are available to each of these airports.
United Airlines and Jet2.com have direct flights to Newark Liberty Airport New York available daily from Glasgow Airport.
Daily flights to John F. Kennedy Airport are served by KLM, Delta, British Airways, Air France and US Airways. All of these are flights with a connection in either Amsterdam, London Heathrow, or Philadelphia.
Flights from Glasgow to LaGuardia Airport, New York are served daily by British Airways, US Airways and FinnAir with connections at Philadelphia International Airport.

Glasgow Airport

Car Hire at Newark Airport is available with desks for Advantage, Budget, Dollar, Payless and Thrifty available in the multi-storey car park in area P2. This is just outside the terminal buildings which can be reached by taking the courtesy shuttle bus.
There are several options for public transport from Newark Airport into New York including AirTrain and Newark Airport Express.
John F. Kennedy Airport
John F. Kennedy is located 26 miles from New York City with AirTrain, car rental and taxi services available to take you onto your destination.
LaGuardia Airport
LaGuardia Airport is a smaller, quieter airport compared to John F. Kennedy and Newark, handling only domestic flights. LaGuardia enjoys a convenient location in the north of Queens, close to Manhattan and 12 miles from New York City. The NYC Airporter bus, car hire and taxi services are all available from the airport.
Practical Information
Passengers with a British passport can visit the US for up to 90 days without a visa according to the US Visa Waiver Programme (VWP). Authorisation may be required ahead of your journey from the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) and you should check this when making your flight booking.
Passengers with passports extended by 12 months are not eligible for the VWP and a visa is required which can be obtained from your nearest US Embassy or Consulate.
Passengers arriving at New York from Glasgow are advised to visit the Port Authority Welcome Centre located in arrivals for more information about transportation options into the city if you do not have something already arranged.
