Getting Here:

We are just over an hour from Halifax, 1/2 hours from Lunenburg and only 1 1/2 hours from the airport.

By Car: Windhorse Farm is located at 132 Sarty Road in New Germany, Nova Scotia. It takes about one hour and fifteen minutes to get to Winhdorse Farm from Halifax. Note some GPS systems have been known to direct people to a different Sarty Road when using just the address, so take care to also use ‘Windhorse Farm’ and double check that your destination matches the instructions below.

  • Go west on Highway 103 towards Peggys Cove/South Shore/Yarmouth.
  • After driving approximately 90 kms, take exit 12.
  • At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and drive 11 km on Highway #10, following signs towards Northfield/New Germany/Middleton.
  • Turn left on Wentzell Road and go 1 km and over an iron bridge.
  • Immediately after the bridge, turn right on Sarty Road.
  • Windhorse Farm is the first place on your left, #132.

You will see the parking lot on the left, and the red office building is slightly further up the road, also on the left.

If you are coming down the #10 from the Annapolis Valley, you will pass through New Germany and continue about 10 minutes or less before turning right on Wentzell Road. After turning right on Wentzell Rd., follow it for 1 km and over an iron bridge and immediately turn right onto Sarty Road. Windhorse Farm will be the first place on the left.

By Plane: The international gateway is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (airport code YHZ), near Halifax, Nova Scotia. The easiest way to get to Windhorse Farm from the airport is by car or shuttle. There are several from Halifax and elsewhere to the town of Bridgewater, which is about 15 minutes away from Windhorse Farm. Following arrival in Bridgewater, you will have to find private transportation to Windhorse Farm.
