Craigslist enables you to find talent from around the world, rather than just the home city where your company does business. In fact, more than 700 Craigslist sites are in 70 countries, according to November 2012 data from the company. That means you can place an ad in any market Craigslist serves - whether local or international. The local classifieds and forums site may have hundreds of sites scattered across the world, but it’s headquartered in San Francisco, California.
U.S. Cities
Craigslist covers the following U.S. cities, as of March 2013: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City, Orange County, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Raleigh, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, San Francisco Bay Area and Washington DC. This listing is what you find on the home page of any city’s site under “U.S. Cities.” But it isn’t exhaustive of all the U.S. cities that Craigslist covers. To find the more comprehensive listing, visit the About Cities page (link in Resources).
Canada
There is a Craigslist site for the following Canadian cities: Calgary (Alberta), Edmonton (Alberta), Halifax (Nova Scotia), Montreal (Quebec), Ottawa (Ontario), Saskatoon (Saskatchewan), Toronto (Ontario), Vancouver (British Columbia), Victoria (British Columbia) and Winnipeg (Manitoba). These cities are found under “Canada” on any city’s home page. But they aren’t the only Canadian cities Craigslist covers. The About Cities page lists all of the Canadian cities (link in Resources). Most of the Canadian cities weren’t added until 2009; prior to that only three cities were covered from 2004 to 2009. Craigslist covers all 10 Canadian provinces.
Worldwide
Worldwide, Craigslist covers the following far-flung locales: Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Oceania. Most if not all major worldwide cities are represented. Europe alone comprises the following 27 locations: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. As with the U.S. and Canada sites, Craigslist has removed its adult services section from its worldwide sites.
