Halifax Regional Municipality offers surplus properties for sale and lease. Properties no longer required for use by the Halifax Regional Municipality may be declared surplus by Regional Council and disposed of in accordance with Administrative Order 50, the Disposal of Surplus Real Property Administrative Order. Administrative Order 50 outlines the property disposal process, which includes categorizing each property based on its re-sale potential and characteristics. Regional Council must approve the surplus status of the property and the type of disposal, from one of the following categories: Ordinary, Community Interest, Economic Development, Remnant, Extraordinary and Intergovernmental Transfer.
