Jennifer Gabriel, 36, of 94 Pleasant Street, Springhill, received a suspended sentence and six-months probation after pleading guilty to failing to provide adequate protection for a dog she owned from injurious cold.

Gillis prohibited from driving

Roderick Blair Gillis, 33, of Hammond Plains, was fined $1, 300 and prohibited from driving for one year after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration in excess of .08 per cent.

Lawless pleads guilty

Shanda Raylene Lawless, 37, of Amherst, will return to court Nov. 16, for sentencing, after pleading guilty to uttering death threat by telephone.

Medicraft fined $100 for stealing vodka

Brandi Lee Medicraft, 20, of Lunenburg, was handed a conditional discharge, six months probation and fine $100 after pleading guilty to stealing a pint of vodka from the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission.

Byard Anthony Rushton, 47, of Springhill, was sentenced to 90 days custody, 12 months probation, and ordered to pay $116 restitution after pleading guilty to two counts of of stealing property which value did not exceed $5, 000.

The incidents occurred Mar. 6, 2015, and Mar. 8, 2015, in Springhill.

Williams to be sentenced next year

Eugene G. Williams, 76, of Amherst, will return to court Feb. 8, 2016, for sentencing, after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol concentration in excess of .08 per cent.

The incident occurred Aug. 20, 2015, in Upper Nappan.
