A little about Billingsgate Farm & C&C Reading Farm
Billingsgate Farm was established in the 1800's. It was owned by the Perkins family, turned into a cow farm by the Billings family, and sold to the Sheehan family. Nowadays, it is a working vegetable, fruit, and cut flower farm. Billingsgate Farm is a 'real' farm-we organically and traditionally grow over 90% of the high quality products that we offer for sale! Our farm has nearly quadrupled in size since it's inception, boasting over 75 acres of lush and fertile farmland! We are currently the only GAP certified (Good Agricultural Practices) farm in Plymouth County growing small fruits and vegetables, and the first farm in Massachusetts to pass the GAP with a 100% score! We are also Baystate Organic Certified and the second farm in Massachusetts to be Commonwealth Quality Certified. We are members of The New England Vegetable Growers Association, Farm Bureau, Semap, and the Northeast Organic Farming Association.
