Valarie Sampson, Broker/Owner

Valarie Sampson is a life-long resident of and has a combined twenty-five years experience in the new home construction and real estate industry. In 1996 she graduated from with a degree in Business Administration and continued to work in the construction industry serving as Executive Officer of the Home Builders Association, President of the CB Home Builders’ Association and Secretary of the Nova Scotia Home Builders’ Association. In 2004 Valarie received her Real Estate license and worked very hard to achieve a number of honours for her hard work and dedication.

After six years and successive growth within the industry, Valarie has taken the steps to go forward with a new, privately held, full service real estate brokerage located in downtown Sydney. The offices are located “The Cunningham Building” at 602 George Street.

At Park Place, our specialty is buying and selling real estate, including new and existing residential and rural homes, new home construction, condos and apartments, we’re ready to help you reach your real estate goals.

Betty Carmichael, REALTOR, Sydney, Nova Scotia

Betty is a long time resident of Braemer Drive in Westmount but grew up in Gardiner Mines. As a business owner in the field of Interior Decorating and past sales respresentative, she rbings a wealth of experience to the Home Selling Market.

Leanne Martheleur, REALTOR, Sydney, Nova Scotia

Leanne is a second-generation Realtor and a St. Mary’s University graduate. She has always been very involved in her community and has demonstrated her ability to get along well with people. She was born and raised in Cape Breton County, and is familiar with Cape Breton landscapes and properties. These are some of the qualities that make her a skilled Realtor. Leanne is comfortable with all aspects of buying or selling a home. She can walk you through the entire process, from the moment you first decide to list or purchase to the day when you are holding the keys to your new home. Born and raised in Glace Bay, Leijsa has gained valuable experience working in the hospitaliy industry in Alberta, Ontario an here in Cape Breton. Leijsa became involved in Real Estate in 2008 and has enjoyed the field immensively during her time in the business. She truly enjoys helping clients attain their housing needs whether it be buying or selling. Leijsa feels that it truly is a privilege to assist people in making one of the most important decisions of their life.

Amy MacPherson, Administrative Assistant, Sydney, Nova Scotia

“Jack of all trades, ” is a good way to describe our newest administrative assistant. When not busy at the office Amy can be found in South Bar where she was born and raised. Amy recently married in 2009, to Matthew Macpherson and has three beautiful children; Ethan, Dylan and Hailey. Amy is very dedicated and can multi-task very efficiently. When it comes to humour, she brings a laugh to the office.

Ryan O'Donnell, Operations Manager, Sydney, Nova Scotia

Ryan is our latest team Operations Manager. Born and raised in Sydney, Ryan graduated from CBU with a bachelor degree in Arts Community Studies and also a degree in Business Administration. He was married to Alexandra Stokal in 2011 and celebrated the birth of their first child Benjamin on Valentines’ Day 2015. Ryan lives in the Whitney Pier and is the office go-to guy when it comes to the day to day operations of Re/Max Park Place Inc.
