Debbie Cruickshank
Receives SuperHost Atlantic Award
From Central Nova Tourist Association

Sponsored by the Nova Scotia Tourism Human Resource Council, this award is intended to recognize a front-line employee whose exceptional customer service contributes to outstanding travel experiences for our visitors.

From the very beginning, during her SuperHost Atlantic training, it was evident that this year’s SuperHost Atlantic Award recipient took the topic of quality customer service seriously and understood its importance in the tourism industry.

Victoria Square in winterIt was not long after receiving her SuperHost pin and certificate that Debbie Cruickshank began putting her skills and enthusiasm to work and immediately distinguished herself as an outgoing, welcoming and capable tourism ambassador. Debbie began working as the Truro Welcome Centre supervisor in June 2010. For three seasons now, she had been the smiling face of the Truro Welcome Centre, impressing thousands of visitors with her enthusiasm and knowledge for the Central Nova region.

She always puts the interests of the centre and this region’s tourists at the forefront, and is always learning and expanding her knowledge of attractions in the region. Debbie willingly shares that wealth of knowledge with her staff.

During the winter months, weather permitting, Victoria Square is home of the Truro Outdoor Rink which has become a very popular attraction for residents and visitors.

Also during the winter months, the Welcome Centre plays a major part in the Downtown Truro Festival of Lights.
